Storms Keeping Roofers, Other Repair Firms Busy
“Some north state businesses stand to profit from the storm-caused disasters plaguing area homes, property and businesses.
Winds, rain and floodwaters have been a boon to some north state businesses, including roofers, septic tank pumpers and swimming pool service companies.
Insurance and financing companies also share some of the spoils while providing assistance to home and business owners.
"Our contractors are getting a lot of calls for patching and repair work," said Dan Woodard of Redding Roofing Supply Inc., a supplier to roofing contractors throughout the north state.
Since the winter storms hit Friday, those contractors have been extremely busy.
Sue Harbert, chief financial officer for Harbert Roofing in Palo Cedro, has fielded so many calls for emergency repairs that ‘the phone is just about constantly connected to my ear,’ she said.”
